Recent Vintage & Thrifted Finds

A goal of mine for the new year is to focus more on curating vintage and thrifted items for my wardrobe. Either specific designer pieces from the past few decades or more mid-century items from the more common brand-less clothing you find in thrift shops.

It’s also becoming somewhat of a hobby. Learning and looking into different runway shows from various fashion houses spanning from the early 00’s to the most current spring/summer 2024 shows. I’ve been finding designs from previous shows/seasons that really resonate with me and then scour online (eBay, TheRealReal, Vestiaire Collective, Etsy, etc…) to find those specific runway looks. Or even something similar. It’s been a super fun hobby to spend my extra time on that I hope to get more into this year! And something that I want to share with you all as well.

With that, I wanted to share some recent vintage and thrifted buys from the past few months. Plus links to some similar items I’ve found around the internet!

Vintage Dior Dress

  • The combination of colors, pattern, and ultra retro silhouette were love at first sight. I’m not sure the exact year or decade this dress is from but believe it to be an old nightgown from probably the 60’s. Research also tells me it’s probably from Dior’s more casual line around this time period. I’ve been playing around with how to wear it not as a nightgown with a more modern flare. Found a similar color and length here.

1970’s Faux Fur Coat

  • Since moving to SF, I’ve been wanting a vintage coat just like this one. I found this at a local vintage shop on Haight street and just had to have it. I saw it in the window while walking across the street like a beacon to try it on. I also really like this similar but new version style of this coat.

1960’s Velvet Dress

  • I found this dress at the same place I found my coat above. The lacy sleeves are so 60’s. I also really like the length and the black velvet which is so easy to dress up or down depending on what I have going on in a day.

Mansur Gavriel Purse

  • I loved this bag when if first came out back around 2016-ish I want to say. I could not afford it at the time with a $1K price tag. But now that it’s been a few years I went out searching for a used one and found this beautiful navy leather bag on TheRealReal. I was excited to see a pretty large collection of Mansur Gavriel bags there like this cobalt blue satchel and this light pink leather handbag!

Thanks for reading along! I hope to share more vintage and thrifted finds every month as we move throughout the year. It’s so fun finding one of kind pieces that speak to different style eras.
