Color Styling: Pink Pastels
I recently rediscovered a pair of light pink corduroys I had bought years ago from the Everlane store in SoHo when it was new and super popular. I loved the idea of pink corduroys when I bought them but they eventually ended up in a pile in my closet after I never really figured out how to style them for fall and winter. They always felt too “spring-y” despite being corduroy.
I’ve been revisiting these closet clothing piles lately to see if there’s anything laying around I can sell or donate and rediscovered these pink pants. Maybe it’s being in California versus New York, but the fall outfit ideas were just flowing and I loved how they were pairing with my other fall staples.
The light pink monochrome in this outfit is so good. This top was a find from a vintage store in Tampa on sale for only five dollars! I had no idea either it would match perfectly with these pants. I liked the idea of navy with the pink to ground it back to the season and I think it’s a perfect match here.
For another outfit idea, I went with some classic fall staples: my favorite brown sweater and matching loafers. Plus the additional light pink scarf to tie in a fun accessory. These Caron Callahan loafers have become my everyday shoe around the city. They are so comfortable even with the hills here. She doesn’t have any loafers available at the moment but I love these boat shoes.
Other than my pink corduroys, I have quite a few other pink items I’ve been wanting to style for cold weather. J.Crew no longer sells this sweater in this hue, but they do have a similar crewneck one in a beautiful peach. And also a lighter pink which I linked above. I found pairing these pink pieces with a classic pair of trousers in a darker khaki created a beautiful look with a mix of pastels and fall colors. And these Manolo Blahnik dupes are actually pretty comfortable and I’ve gotten a lot of wear out of them.
Finally, I added this vintage 1940’s coat to finish off the fall/winter look! I absolutely love the different brown hues with the multiple pink hues. I think it adds a lot of visual interest and depth to the outfit.
So, if you’re looking to get more wear out of your lighter pink pieces, I hope this gives you some new outfit style ideas. You can also shop below for some more favorite pink pieces and what to wear with them!
