A Denim Trench Coat

Madewell denim trench, Shaina Mote trousers, Crockett & Jones monk straps

I have a classic trench coat in the usual tan palette and it is probably the most worn coat in my wardrobe. Not only does it go with everything, but I find it’s so easy to layer as well. The long length is also great for adding warmth below the waist line. Which is particularly nice here in San Francisco with such chilling breezes in the evenings.

I’ve been on the lookout for a denim version of my favorite coat since late summer. Waiting for fall collections to come out and see if any strike my eye. It just so happened the day I decided to go to Madewell while I was in Florida, they had just put this lovely one on the floor. It immediately caught my eye and was exactly what I had been looking for.

The denim is pretty heavy and is definitely warm on its own. I sized it down to an extra-small since it seems to run a little large. Plus I think the thick denim adds a bit of weight to the look. Not to mention the denim is more stretchy than it is stiff. For length, I’m 5’6”, and it falls at just the right spot.

So, if you’re on the lookout for a very good denim trench, this is a great option! That’s all to share today 🙂
