A Week of Outfits #03 (Vacation Edition!)

I just got back from a week long themed cruise around the Caribbean. Stopping at Curacao and Aruba then at sea the rest of the days. Spent some time in Florida as well just before and after. It was such a fun time and a much needed vacation in hot humid weather away from the non-stop rain in San Francisco. Today, I wanted to share some of my outfits I packed and wore!

My plane outfit to Orlando! J.Crew turtleneck | Everlane shorts (newer version) | J.Crew sweater | Lucchese boots

Packing wasn’t too difficult since the forecast was sunny and ~80 degrees at every stop. The coldest part of the trip being the plane ride to and from Orlando. So, I went with layers that could be worn in warm weather when not paired together. A cashmere sweater for cooler nights over a turtleneck for the plane. Plus shorts over tights to then wear the shorts on the boat. Tights take up very little space so they’re a great travel layer!

For this trip, I decided to plan actual outfits to replicate. Versus my usual ‘pack a bunch of things and figure it out later’ method. I also like to make sure the individual pieces can still mix and match!

I love this yellow monochrome look. The wrinkles were a part of this fabric I had to work with during the trip. Simple, long trouser shorts with a short sleeve button up are also such an easy yet classic vacation look. I’ve been really liking long trouser shorts lately to mix in with the usual short shorts. Also added this fun octopus brooch to a bunch of my outfits! Been really exploring statement brooches lately.

How great are gingham shorts? So easy to accessorize and pair with so many tops. Something light to pack and easy to wear multiple different times for a ton of vacation looks.

A vacation wardrobe is not complete to me without a tropical short sleeve button up. It’s a great beach coverup to block the sun and an easy yet fun walk around town kind of shirt.

Overall, I was really happy with what I ended up packing. A mix of shorts, skirts, and easy tops. Plus a combo of sandals and fun flats for various events. Now back to the colder temps of San Francisco!
