A simple striped top is always a wardrobe staple for me. Either long sleeves or short, fitted or loose fitting. They’re always a great option to reach for. I’ve been trying to find new to me ways to wear my favorite looser fitting long sleeve striped shirt. Outfits a bit more dressed up than the typical stripes and jeans combination with no accessories. Which, has been a simple and reliable staple for weekday outfits. But, I wanted to try striped shirt outfit ideas to mix in with my usual minimalist approach.

I love how this turned out as a more dressed up option. It started with this skirt (a similar one here), then a pop of color seemed like a fun idea with a hot pink Ferragamo flat. Instead of going with a completely neutral look. Then, seeing that this vintage hat matched my flats, I felt like I had to add it.
I’ve been trying ways to incorporate my vintage items with my everyday clothes. Ways to create outfits that add a touch of a vintage without looking like a costume. I’m finding sticking to one vintage piece at a time works great but will need to try two!

Another outfit that ended up with a neutral base while adding color through matching accessories. This time a fun blue clog with a bit of a heel (from a favorite local brand) and a vintage blue scarf. I actually found this scarf at a vintage shop in Austin. I got it for free for following them on Instagram. A great deal!

I wanted to try an elevated version of my usual casual jeans and stripes combination that I was trying to find alternatives to. Since I default to simple jean shorts and this shirt with a loafer and no accessories very regularly, a pleated front jean short and a whimsical necklace and vintage rattan bag uplifted this pairing from simple/minimal to fun. Then, a boat shoe loafer for a cute yet comfortable option for walking around the city.
I really like how these all turned out and have been repeating them from week to week. I’ve also linked some more striped shirt options below for a similar look!
