Versatile Striped Shirts (& What to Wear With Them)

In yesterday’s post, I was talking a bit about how versatile a white blouse is. The kind of top that can be dressed up or down. A nice neutral base to an outfit that allows you to build any which way around it. Dress it down and still look chic or go crazy with color and texture for something fun.

Stripes are a similar kind of top to me. Not quite as simple per se, but simple in the sense it’s not hard to create an easy, cute look quickly with one. I like to have a striped shirt to wear with easy jeans on those days you don’t want to think too much about getting dressed. I like to stick to either a short or long sleeved striped t-shirt, or a striped button up like these:

And then pair them with classic or relaxed denim pants or shorts.

But outside of simple everyday looks, versatile striped shirts are a great top for getting creative. Like pattern mixing or going colorful with the bottom. Then add some extra jewelry and dress your outfit up or down with a flat, sneaker, or wedge!
