Bringing Back the Boat Shoe

Back in college, a boat shoe was my everyday staple. I practically lived in them, walking around campus in my preppy phase. Think Lilly Pulitzer, Jack Rogers, the whole vibe.
Lately, I’ve been considering bringing them back into my rotation for city life and work. But I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go all-in on the classic boat shoe look again. Then I spotted the Miu Miu version, a fresh take that felt less traditional and preppy, but still had that same effortless appeal.
Of course, the Miu Miu price tag wasn’t exactly in my budget. So when I saw Sperry team up with Aritzia to release a ‘Slim’ boat shoe, I was instantly sold.
That special release has since sold out, but they have a nearly identical version with a white sole. I’ve also been eyeing the Caron Callahan boat shoes. I already have a pair of loafers from them that have been my go-to city/work shoes for years. These boat shoes are meant to give my loafers a much-needed break. And if they’re anything like my Caron Callahan loafers, I know they’ll hold up beautifully.
